Ia Tangata · run by QueerSpace
Your privacy
Signing a petition about trans, non-binary and intersex rights is personal. We treat your information that way. This page says plainly what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
Only what the petition needs: your name and email, an optional postcode (so we can show support by electorate), and whichever consents you tick. Nothing else. No tracking of where you are, no advertising profiles.
Why we collect it
To record that you support implementing Ia Tangata, to show the total number of signatures and how many electorates they cover, and, only if you tick that box, to email you campaign updates. Your postcode is turned into an electorate; we do not store your street address.
Where it is kept
In a secure database hosted in New Zealand's region (Sydney, Australia). Individual signatures are never shown publicly. Only aggregate totals are.
Who we share it with
No one. We never sell your details, and we never share them with any political party or third party. Full stop.
Deleting your signature
You can have your signature deleted at any time. Email kiaora@queerspace.nz with your name, email and postcode. If those match a signature we hold, we will delete it and confirm. You can also ask to see or correct what we hold. Every campaign email has an unsubscribe link too; unsubscribing stops the emails but does not remove your signature unless you ask.
This campaign is run by QueerSpace and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
